First Harvest Ministries emphasizes a few core themes when speaking of the Refining Fire of Pentecost:
- Pentecost is not only an event, but a process of transformation, where the Holy Spirit burns away impurities in character, motives, and habits
- God’s fire is refining, not merely exciting: it purges dross so believers can walk in holiness, obedience, and maturity
- True Pentecostal fire produces visible fruit: deeper love, humility, boldness, and alignment with God’s purposes
- Seasons of pressure, trial, and correction are understood as “refining rooms” the Spirit uses to shape believers into Christ’s likeness
