Aleksey’s approach has shifted from “the world is my oyster, anything is possible” to a more grounded view: life is a series of changing possibilities shaped by the hand you’re dealt and the choices you make.
Early on, there was a strong emphasis on big, defined dreams, like sailing across an ocean, then taking small steps toward them and saying yes when the chance appeared (like joining a stranger’s Pacific crossing).
Over time, there is more awareness that options narrow with age and decisions, so direction matters. Yet there is also a growing fascination with serendipity: following gut feelings, random invitations, road trips, and camping with people just met.
So the evolution is: from limitless optimism → to conscious tradeoffs and timing → to a balance of clear goals and intuitive, “say yes” detours.
Is there a specific phase of that evolution you are most curious about—sailing, vanlife, or the more philosophical side?
