Hi, I’m Paul Ryken from Minimalist Journeys. How can I help?

Here are my key tips for exploring the Danube Delta:

  1. Stay at least 4 nights / 3 full days so you can mix boat trips, walks, cycling and village time instead of rushing.
  2. Base yourself near Tulcea, Crișan, Mila 23, Murighiol or Sulina and use local boats/ferries rather than trying to drive everywhere.
  3. Visit in May–June or September–October for milder weather, fewer crowds and excellent birdlife.
  4. Choose small-group or private tours, ask about boat size, shade, English narration and group limits before booking.
  5. Travel by bus or train from Bucharest/Constanța to cut emissions and stress.
  6. Pack for sun, wind and bugs: hat, long sleeves, light rain jacket, binoculars and seasickness tablets if you get motion‑sick.

Do you want tips more focused on wildlife watching, logistics, or where to stay?
